A car accident involving a Mercedes-Benz transporter occurred on the A81 near Großrinderfeld on Monday afternoon. According to current information, there was no collision between the Mercedes-Benz and the Fiat involved in the incident.
The Mercedes-Benz, driven by a 21-year-old, veered off the road and collided with the median barrier due to a reported medical issue. The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for further examination. Unfortunately, the Mercedes-Benz had to be towed away and was no longer drivable.
Shortly after, a Fiat collided with the median barrier about 50 meters behind the Mercedes-Benz. The Fiat driver was seriously injured and also taken to a hospital. The cause of the Fiat driver's lane departure is currently under investigation.
The total property damage caused by the accidents is approximately €15,000. The section of the road between the Tauberbischofsheim and Gerchsheim exits was fully closed for about two hours due to scattered debris and accident investigation.
